Erick and I have teamed up for our newest labor of love project, Yummybooth!

Our little set-up is equipped with a (bright, very bright haha) Alienbees ring flash and super fun homemade backdrops.  This type of flash doesn't cast shadows on the subject, so the lighting gave these photos a vintage feel that I totally love. We had so much fun at Jaclyn and Matt's wedding, and while I am tediously finishing up all of the photos from the big day, we will now happily be starting to upload the photo booth pictures in their temporary Flickr home! YAY!  I hope you all have as much fun browsing through these pictures as I did taking them!  The full set should be available to view within the next few days, though a second wedding tomorrow might hold me back just a bit... bear with me! :)

Please keep checking back for more updates!

Also, if you're interested in renting a custom Yummybooth for your next event, don't hesitate to contact me here

  3. Love the handmade background :)

  4. I wish I could go back in time and have a Yummybooth at my wedding. I had never heard of a photo booth of any kind...everyone started doing it after!

  5. This looks like such fun! and such a nice thing to have at a wedding

  6. This is awesome, Kate! and I love the name. Such a great collaboration. :)

  7. Very very cute! The photos look great! How exciting that you get to work together!

  8. Yummybooth is probably the best name imaginable for your photobooth. And now I need to think of a party to throw just so I can have you guys there!

  9. Thank you all so much for the kind words. It's always scary launching a side project for the first time.

And I'm so glad everyone likes the name! We thought for a while, but I really think it fits. :)

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend, and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;)

As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that.

For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

(silly photo of me saying, "whaaat?"  by the husband)

Hi friends. I wanted to take a minute to catch up together and fill you in on a few new things! To anyone new to our space, thank you for visiting and I'm glad you're here. You may have noticed the look around the blog has been much simpler and clean. It's something I'm trying to do not only in just the blog, but with my life itself... a bit of a spring-cleaning, if you will. My Facebook feed filled with "friends" I haven't talked to in ages, a twitter name that no one could pronounce or understand, blog columns and categories I couldn't keep up with, even pressure to post when I know I should just be enjoying my time with my family. The list is seeming never-ending for a lot of us out there, and I just wanted to be honest and say that I too have gotten "stuck" one time or another, and here's a few things I did to streamline my way out of it:

Made It To Another Weekend : The Table

Oh, weekend. We are so happy you're here. It's been a doozy lately. I won't put you through the pitiful details, don't worry-- but I'm just happy to exhale a little bit and am welcoming these days of togetherness with open arms. PS- look at me using unfiltered iPhone photos in a blog post. Who am I? Sometimes I don't even recognize myself. Truly a measure of just how exhausted I really am both mentally and physically ;)

And while I've been seriously down and out in every other area of my life, we've actually been doing some pretty cool things at home. I'm so proud of Sofia and her desire to soak up new information, to learn, and to think of me as a pretty cool "teacher". I'm so in awe of everything she does. But this is all part of the inevitable fact that these kiddos of ours are growing up.
Most days we'll do some kind of worksheet, practicing our letters and cutting skills and getting to color.... other days we'll just spe…
