No matter where I go in the house lately, Sofia has been interested.

Her little eyes follow me around, tracking the camera and watching my every step.

The hardest thing has been when she watches me leave for work in the morning, I always turn around to see if she watches me walk out of the door (she does!) I learned my lesson!  I just have to walk right out, because those little tiny stare-downs absolutely break my heart.

Today we're home together, and I'm happy.

We've been listening to holiday music and getting into the Christmas spirit.  :)
I've been in the mood to decorate the apartment, make sugar cookies and light the fireplace that I don't have. Haha.  I cannot get over how much this little girl loves getting her picture taken!  All I have to do is hold up the camera and she starts cracking up.  She doesn't have a shy bone in her body.  Yet.

  1. Aww she is so cute! I wish my daughter was photogenic. Yeah I have a shy one on my hands and she hates when I pull my camera out haha she usually runs away. :P

  2. My goodness... I seriously love watching Sofia grow up! Cutest baby ever.

AND I'm super interested in those paint photos... whatcha working on???

AND AND I love the new header.

  3. @Jazmyn- don't give up! maybe it's just a shy phase.. if all else fails you still have those adorable napping pictures! ;)

@Katherine- thank you!! so the paint is for some homemade cards for my family that are hmm.. rifle paper co-esque-inspired?! haha. i'm trying to come up with homemade gifts for a lot of things this year! :D

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend, and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;)

As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that.

For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

The Long And Short Of It

Hi, friends. How was your weekend? After having non-stop rain for nearly a month, we finally received a short break in the El NiƱo weather to head to the coast. Even though it's not in our backyard, I still feel like twenty miles to the beach is a good compromise. It really is lovely here and it makes me happy to see the girls so at home in the sea.

This week we are gearing up for Easter and some very special visitors -- my Mama and my sister! It will be the first time Mom has seen our new home or visited the Bay Area, so to say we are excited would be an understatement. We cannot wait. I've even kept it as a surprise from the girls, so I'm sure the look on their faces alone when they see Grammie and their Auntie will be the highlight of the whole trip.

What about you? Any special Easter plans or crafting?

We made some hot crossed buns for the first time last year, and I'm hoping I can bake a little something special this year too. We're going to try this recipe a…

(silly photo of me saying, "whaaat?"  by the husband)

Hi friends. I wanted to take a minute to catch up together and fill you in on a few new things! To anyone new to our space, thank you for visiting and I'm glad you're here. You may have noticed the look around the blog has been much simpler and clean. It's something I'm trying to do not only in just the blog, but with my life itself... a bit of a spring-cleaning, if you will. My Facebook feed filled with "friends" I haven't talked to in ages, a twitter name that no one could pronounce or understand, blog columns and categories I couldn't keep up with, even pressure to post when I know I should just be enjoying my time with my family. The list is seeming never-ending for a lot of us out there, and I just wanted to be honest and say that I too have gotten "stuck" one time or another, and here's a few things I did to streamline my way out of it:

• Keep as many things cons…
